ATLANTA, June 11, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Apptega, a company that specializes in cybersecurity compliance, has announced the appointment of John Eastman as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Eastman, who has over three decades of experience in software development, will lead the engineering team at Apptega, which focuses on developing a continuous compliance platform designed for managed security providers.

John Eastman's background includes a successful tenure as CTO for Mezeo, a middleware provider, and as Vice President of Product and Engineering for Zimbra, a collaboration and email platform that was acquired by Synacor in 2015. Eastman is recognized for his expertise in scalable distributed systems and collaboration software.

“We have an incredible opportunity to build software that empowers managed security providers as well as forward-thinking IT teams to build scalable, audit-ready security and compliance programs in a fraction of the time and with far fewer resources than the tools on the market today,” Eastman stated. “Our goal is to deliver real-time compliance and security posture scoring so that organizations can go beyond checking boxes and instead answer with certainty the question, ‘Am I secure?’”

Apptega's CEO, Dave Colesante, commented on Eastman's appointment, saying, “John has a long and distinguished track record of building high-performing software engineering teams for high-growth companies. He’ll be a great asset to our team and an essential partner to the many managed service and security providers in the Apptega ecosystem that are building world-class security and compliance programs for their clients.”

Eastman's hiring follows the recent addition of other industry experts to Apptega’s leadership team. In February, the company appointed Rahul Bakshi as Chief Product Officer. Bakshi previously served as Head of Product at eSentire, a global leader in managed detection and response with over 2,000 customers.
