National Wagyu Day celebrates the renowned Japanese beef, which is favored for its distinctive taste. The first three lessons in the series explain that Wagyu is pronounced “WAA-gyoo,” meaning “Japanese cow” in Japanese; that American Wagyu is a crossbreed of purebred Japanese Wagyu and primarily American Black Angus; and that Capriotti’s is one of the few quick-service restaurants offering this premium protein.

All of Capriotti’s American Wagyu beef is sourced from Snake River Farms. The livestock are raised on ranches across the Northwest, and their proprietary herd is featured in upscale restaurants and specialty retailers globally, including Capriotti’s.
