Coffman Engineers Expands with Acquisition of RGD Acoustics, Inc.

OAKLAND, Calif., July 10, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Today, Coffman Engineers, Inc. (Coffman), a multidiscipline consulting engineering firm, announced the completion of its asset purchase agreement with RGD Acoustics, Inc. (RGD), an acoustical consulting firm based in the Bay Area. The agreement was finalized in a signing ceremony on July 7. As part of the acquisition, RGD's three owners and two staff members will join Coffman, allowing both firms to expand their resources and acoustical service offerings while ensuring continuity for RGD's clients and employees.

"Tim, Harold, and I have enjoyed the success of our partnership for the past 20 years, and it was time to look at what was next for us," said Alan Rosen, RGD Principal. "We are excited to continue serving our clients with more resources and capabilities."

With the addition of RGD, Coffman's Bay Area acoustical group will grow from two to six employees, bolstering the company's expertise in specialized acoustical consulting and design services. RGD brings a wealth of experience, having completed numerous projects in the Bay Area and throughout California. The acquisition will enable Coffman to enhance its capabilities in areas such as performing arts centers and specialized spaces where quality room acoustics are crucial.

"We are honored that they chose Coffman for their next chapter," said Brian Salyers, PE, Bay Area General Manager. "Adding RGD is an advantage for our clients, and we look forward to learning from RGD and growing together."

The newly formed entity, RGD as Coffman Engineers, will continue to provide support for clients and uphold existing project commitments. The company will maintain operations from its San Rafael office while integrating into Coffman's Oakland office.
