SEATTLE, August 24, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Consulting engineering firm Coffman Engineers, Inc. (Coffman) has disclosed that it will acquire BRC Acoustics & Audiovisual Design, Inc. (BRC). The two companies are set to finalize an asset purchase agreement in September 2023. BRC's owner, Dan Bruck, along with five staff members, will join Coffman, marking a significant step in BRC's ownership-transition plan. "We have some of the same clients, project overlap, and are two long-established firms. We are also joining a growing acoustics team at Coffman and will support these services across the company," said Dan Bruck, PhD, BRC owner.

The acquisition will enhance Coffman's portfolio by adding a new acoustical service, targeting markets including hospitality, healthcare, housing, and education. "BRC has a rich 63-year history in Seattle, and their influence is heard on projects across the Northwest and internationally. We are fortunate to welcome this experienced team," stated Arvind Nerurkar, Senior VP, and Seattle Managing Principal of Coffman. Once the agreement is complete, BRC will relocate to Coffman's Seattle office, thereby expanding Coffman's acoustical group to 13 employees.
