D.O.P.E. Launches Series 1 of High-End Collectibles Dedicated to Black Icons, Bass Reeves and Stagecoach Mary

Philadelphia, PA, July 17, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Depicting Our Peoples Excellence (D.O.P.E.) has officially launched its highly-anticipated high-end collectibles brand that celebrates Black icons. Founders Acori Honzo, LaWanda Shepherd, Larry Robertson, and Saddler Ward have combined their expertise in fine arts, entertainment, fashion, and poetry to create collectible figures that honor historical figures and promote cultural and educational significance.

The inaugural release from D.O.P.E. features two iconic figures from American history: Bass Reeves and Mary Fields, also known as Stagecoach Mary. Bass Reeves, a former slave and the first Black Deputy US Marshal, is widely recognized as the inspiration behind the Lone Ranger. Mary Fields, the first Black woman mail carrier in the United States, became known as Stagecoach Mary for her fearless delivery of mail while defending herself against various challenges.

Speaking about the figures, Saddler Ward, a founding member of D.O.P.E., emphasized the importance of elevating the stories of these historical figures: "Everywhere we have shown D.O.P.E., the response has been amazement not just at our figures, but at a history that needs to be known by all!"
