Florida Coalition for Children's Annual Conference Records Historic Attendance, Honors Exceptional Leadership

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., July 26, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The Florida Coalition for Children (FCC) witnessed a record-breaking attendance at its 2023 Annual Conference last week. The event, held at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort in Bonita Springs, Florida, was attended by over 700 individuals, marking an all-time high.

This event comprised inspiring keynote speeches, educational offerings by national experts, the FCC's 2023 Awards program, a bustling trade show, and networking sessions. Amelia Franck Meyer, a seasoned veteran in child welfare and the founder and CEO of Alia International, was the keynote speaker on Monday. Dr. Kimberly Noble, a professor of neuroscience and education at Columbia University, spoke during the general session on Tuesday.

Workshops at the conference covered a broad spectrum of topics, from national movements like Thriving Families Safer Children to addressing childhood trauma, trends in child welfare financing, and innovative child welfare career training. Roundtable discussions and strategy sessions were also conducted, featuring representatives from the child welfare field, Florida Legislators, and State University representatives among others.

FCC also honored several outstanding members for their exemplary work in improving the lives of Florida's children and families. The awards were distributed across six categories with the recipients including Karin Flositz, Dennis Maneja, Amanda Land, Lucan Phillips, Christopher Rossi, and Larry Rein. Additionally, FCC President and CEO Kurt Kelly was recognized for his ten-year tenure, spearheading efforts to transform the lives of Florida's children and families.
