Gregory S. Lermond

WASHINGTON, May 24, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Last night, at the elegant Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, New Jersey, Fragrance Creators Association presented the esteemed Eric Bruell Distinguished Service Award to Gregory S. Lermond. This annual recognition took place during Fragrance Creators' Spring Dinner, where leaders from the fragrance industry gathered to celebrate Lermond's significant contributions and accomplishments in advancing the industry.

For over five decades, Gregory S. Lermond has been an unwavering advocate for promoting community and responsible growth within the fragrance industry. His journey began in 1970 as an agent/broker of essential oils at the John D. Walsh Company, where he steadily climbed the ranks to eventually become the President and CEO. Throughout his career, Lermond demonstrated a keen ability to adapt to evolving industry demands. He implemented a distribution model for essential oils and aroma chemicals, strategically meeting the growing need for just-in-time inventory.

In recognition of his industry expertise and leadership, Lermond served on the Fragrance Materials Association's (now Fragrance Creators) Board of Directors from 1989 to 1994. Additionally, he played an instrumental role in the establishment of other industry associations such as the International Federation of Essential Oils and Aroma Trades (IFEAT) and Women in Flavor and Fragrance Commerce (WFFC). In 2014, after selling The John D. Walsh Company, Lermond assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer at The Lermond Company, LLC. This woman-owned distributor of fragrance and flavor ingredients was founded by his daughters, Tara Lermond Melchionne and Erica Lermond.

Cynthia Reichard, Co-Chair of the Fragrance Creators Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of Arylessence, Inc., praised Lermond, stating, "Mr. Lermond is a true industry leader. I have long admired his deep knowledge and expertise regarding our industry—and his unwavering passion in supporting all aspects of the fragrance industry at large."

Robert Weinstein, Co-Chair of the Fragrance Creators Board of Directors and CEO of Robertet USA, echoed the sentiment, saying, "Greg's vision and tenacity have helped our industry keep up with changing times. I am grateful for his innumerable contributions to our industry."

Farah K. Ahmed, President & CEO of Fragrance Creators Association, commended Lermond's dedication as a responsible industry steward, adding, "When we say 'responsible industry steward,' we think of people like Greg; dedicated individuals who go above and beyond to nurture the current and help cultivate the next generation of values-driven fragrance industry leaders to shape our industry for the better."
