HFR Implements Private 5G Network for Agricultural Logistics Enhancement

This project, sponsored by the Korea Communications Agency (KCA), focuses on enhancing agricultural logistics through technological innovation.
The initiative aims to automate the sorting and packaging of agricultural products by integrating a range of technologies, including robotics, sensors, and autonomous vehicles, all connected via a 5G network. This technology is intended to improve the efficiency of operations at a facility dedicated to processing and distributing fresh agricultural products.
HFR, Inc. reports that the first phase of the project, which included setting up automated sorting and packaging systems and optimizing environmental controls through the Private 5G network, has been completed. The company has also indicated that planning for the second phase is in progress. This next stage is expected to focus on expanding commercial applications, adding new features, and making technological advancements, with a timeline set between 2024 and 2026.
The Private 5G network, utilizing HFR’s own technologies, underwent performance testing and certification in October. This process was conducted by an accredited testing institution and was supervised by the KCA.
