TREVOSE, Pa., June 10, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) has announced that Lazaros Kalemis, founder of Simpay, has been awarded the title of Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2024 for the Greater Philadelphia region. This prestigious recognition highlights leaders who demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit, commitment, and the ability to create long-term value and substantial impact through their business ventures.

Kalemis was chosen by an independent panel of judges composed of previous award winners, leading CEOs, and other business leaders. Criteria for the award included entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to purpose, and demonstrated growth.

"I am incredibly proud to receive this award. It's a testament to my parents who emigrated to the United States because they believed this is the place where you can dream big and achieve those dreams. While it's my name on the award, this really goes out to each and every team member at Simpay, who work tirelessly to bring our vision to life," said Kalemis.

With this regional award, Kalemis is now eligible for the national Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 awards. The winners of the national awards, including the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award, will be announced in November at the Strategic Growth Forum®, a key event for high-growth companies. The national winner will represent the United States at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year® competition in June 2025.

The Entrepreneur Of The Year program celebrates leaders from various business backgrounds, including original founders, transformational CEOs, and family business leaders who have redefined legacy business models. Past winners have included notable figures such as Howard Schultz of Starbucks Coffee Company and Reid Hoffman and Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn Corporation.

Entrepreneur Of The Year winners become part of a global community of over 11,000 entrepreneurs, gaining access to a network of alumni and resources across 60 countries.

In addition to this program, EY US supports other initiatives such as the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ program and the EY Entrepreneurs Access Network, aimed at connecting women founders and minority entrepreneurs with essential resources and networks.
