CINCINNATI, October 28, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) – The E.W. Scripps Company, a media company that covers local and national news, has appointed Matt Simon as Vice President of Scripps News. According to the company, Simon will lead the network’s vision, editorial direction, and programming strategy.
Simon has been with Scripps News since 2018, most recently serving as Deputy Managing Editor and Senior Executive Producer. In that role, he managed syndicated content production for Scripps News and Scripps Local Media, including programs such as "Scripps News Reports" and "Good to Know." He also oversaw daily newscasts co-produced with local stations and helped revamp several primetime programs.
Before joining Scripps, Simon worked at CGTN, leading international productions and special events, including coverage of a U.S. presidential election. He has also produced programs for The Weather Channel and WJZ in Baltimore.

Simon will report to Littleton as he leads Scripps News’ national team, which will provide news services for more than 60 local stations. The company recently announced that it will end over-the-air broadcasts of Scripps News on November 15, but the national news programming will continue on streaming and digital platforms.
