BIRMINGHAM, England, August 14, 2023 (Newswire.com) - British boxing Olympic medalist Joshua Buatsi(guided by Mazhar Majeed, owner of Star People and Buatsi's advisor), has signed a multi-million pound, multi-year contract with promoters Boxxer; securing exclusive TV rights for the UK's Sky Sports network. Despite receiving worldwide offers from various promoters, Buatsi and Majeed chose Boxxer for the fighter's awaited return to the ring.

"Maz got this deal done quickly as he understands the reach of Boxxer and Sky," said Ben Shalom of Boxxer, acknowledging Majeed's instrumental role in the negotiation. Buatsi's first fight under the new contract took place on May 6, 2023, against Polish champion Pawel Stepien. The event drew a packed crowd and ended in a decisive victory for Buatsi. Reflecting on the successful night, Majeed commented, "It was a clash of two worthy rivals, and Josh won by pacing himself - he got the job done. We expected this result and are happy with the great turnout and support for Josh. We hope he'll be fighting again soon, maybe against Dan Azeez - let's see if we can make that happen."

Majeed, who has been a key figure in some of the biggest Pay Per View fights in recent boxing history, continues to express confidence about the future bouts, including the promising fight between Buatsi and titleholder Dan Azeez. "This fight promises to be a blockbuster for British boxing!" he said.
