NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario, August 22, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The "My Mulan Fantasy Dance Drama," produced by Mulan Culture Company and Lindance Dance Academy, was performed at the Fallsview Theatre, Niagara Falls Convention Center, over two weekends from August 9-18. This production marks its first performance outside the Greater Toronto Area, following previous shows in that region.
The production, directed by Lin Li and produced by Xu Hu, tells the story of Michelle, a modern character who is inspired by the legendary figure Hua Mulan. The show features a combination of dance, martial arts, and visual effects, with a cast of approximately 100 performers. According to the producers, the show has been continuously refined since its premiere in 2019 and is presented as an original dance drama in North America.
The event attracted various public figures, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, MP Tony Baldinelli, MPP Wayne Gates, and Mayor Jim Diodati. China's Acting Consul General in Toronto, Cheng Hongbo, and Deputy Consul General Guo Jian also attended the premiere.
In addition to the performances, the production incorporated dynamic stage design and multimedia elements. It also featured special appearances by performers such as Toronto rap artist Forever Chen and singer Christina Li.
Proceeds from the event supported the Niagara Health Foundation, contributing to the construction of the new South Niagara Hospital. The show received positive feedback from attendees, with comments highlighting the choreography, costumes, and overall production quality.
