SAN DIEGO, September 15, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Despite facing unprecedented weather challenges, StateSide, a newly constructed student housing community near San Diego State University (SDSU), opened its doors as planned. This timely opening gains significance as other projects in the region faced delays due to the nearly record-setting rainfall this year. The adverse weather conditions have created a shortage of available student housing units for the academic year, affecting more than 1,500 students. Delays in construction schedules have even pushed back openings for student housing at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and another facility adjacent to SDSU until mid-October at the earliest.
Developed by Next Space Development and Pacific Residential, LLC, StateSide offers a 27-unit, 130-bed off-campus student residence located on Montezuma Road near College Avenue. The complex is managed by Campus Life & Style, a nationally recognized student housing operator. StateSide was entirely leased out months ahead of its opening and will be home to the SDSU women's basketball team among others.
