Hunden Partners Awards Annual Robin Scott Hunden Real Estate Scholarships to Michelle Lin and Imani Thomas
CHICAGO - Hunden Partners (HP or Hunden), a nationally recognized real estate development advisory practice, has announced the winners of its prestigious Robin Scott Hunden Real Estate Scholarship. The scholarship program, initiated at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, aims to promote diversity within the real estate industry and provide opportunities for students from non-traditional backgrounds to pursue careers in real estate while alleviating the financial burden of college education.
Established by Robin "Rob" Hunden, the CEO of Hunden Partners and an alumnus of Indiana University Kelley School of Business, the scholarship program reflects his commitment to giving back to his alma mater and nurturing emerging talent in real estate from diverse backgrounds.
"As an Indiana University alum, I am grateful for the opportunities I had to lay the foundation for my future career in real estate during my time at the business school. I am thrilled to be able to offer similar opportunities to a new generation of college students through scholarship support," said Hunden. "Commercial real estate is often seen as an industry with high barriers to entry, but I wanted to change that perception and provide opportunities to students that help bridge racial and gender disparities in our field."
The winners of the Robin Scott Hunden Real Estate Scholarship are Michelle Lin, a student from Shepherdsville, Kentucky, and Imani Thomas from Zionsville, Indiana. Lin, a first-generation college student, is currently studying finance and real estate and actively participates in Kelley's Commercial Real Estate Workshop and various student organizations. Thomas, an accomplished basketball player, is pursuing a degree in finance and real estate and aspires to a career in real estate development with a focus on social impact.
Both Lin and Thomas have been awarded scholarships of $2,500 each for the '22-'23 school year. The Robin Scott Hunden Real Estate Scholarship will be an annual award, with a preference given to students demonstrating financial need, including those who are self-funding their education.
The Kelley School of Business has witnessed a surge in interest in real estate studies, with growing enrollment in relevant courses, clubs, and workshops. Gifts like the Robin Scott Hunden Real Estate Scholarship enable greater access to opportunities for Kelley students and contribute to their future success.
"We appreciate Rob's generosity and partnerships like his, as they provide our students with enhanced access to the opportunities we offer. Our students, like Rob, can look forward to thriving careers," said Ash Soni, dean of the Kelley School and the Sungkyunkwan Professor.
