LOS ANGELES - July 25, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Venture capital firm Shima Capital, along with its founder Yida Gao, have announced their investment in Pixion Games, an innovative gaming studio working on Web3 projects. The seed round, which totaled $5.5 million, included contributions from a host of other investors such as the Avalanche Foundation's Blizzard Fund, Eldridge, Merit Circle, ReadyPlayerDAO, VGC, Zee Prime, Mechanism Capital, GSR, and Misfits Gaming. The newly raised funds will be utilized to expedite the development of Pixion Games' primary project, Fableborne.

Fableborne is a mobile action role-playing game that merges strategic base building and the acquisition of blockchain-based in-game assets. Gamers can also engage in the Pixion League, an in-app tournament system created by the studio. The game's development team is composed of experienced professionals from established companies such as Konami, Gala Games, Ubisoft, and Sony, further solidifying the potential for the game's future success.

Yida Gao, Shima Capital's Founder and Managing General Partner, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, citing the strength and track record of the Pixion team as key deciding factors in the investment. "This investment made a lot of sense for Shima Capital. We're excited for Fableborne to be played by the masses," said Gao. This investment aligns with Gao's continuous support for web3 gaming and the myriad opportunities it represents.
