ENCINO, Calif., March 22, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The Spondylitis Association of America (SAA) has introduced a new video resource titled "Healthy Living with AxSpA: Cooking with Chef Kevin Gillespie" to support individuals diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). This initiative, supported by UCB, aims to educate and motivate AS patients to adopt an anti-inflammatory diet to manage their symptoms and improve their overall health.

Ankylosing spondylitis, a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the spine and sacroiliac joints, can lead to significant pain, stiffness, and mobility issues. Although there is no cure for AS, dietary changes focusing on anti-inflammatory foods have been recognized for their potential to alleviate symptoms and enhance life quality.

The video showcases Chef Kevin Gillespie, known for his appearance on "Top Chef" and his success as an Atlanta-area restaurateur. He is joined by Dr. Hillary Norton, a rheumatologist, and Dana Marton, an SAA Support Group Leader and AS patient, to share their knowledge and personal experiences with an anti-inflammatory diet. Their collaboration offers viewers practical advice and inspiration to incorporate such dietary habits into their daily lives.

"SAA extends its sincerest gratitude to UCB for its generous support in sponsoring this project," said SAA CEO Cassie Shafer. "Their support has been instrumental in bringing this valuable resource to the AS community."
