T-Mobile Advances 5G Performance with Four-Carrier Aggregation Rollout
BELLEVUE, Wash., July 25, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - T-Mobile US, Inc. (NASDAQ: TMUS) announced today that it has started to implement four-carrier aggregation, significantly enhancing speeds on its 5G standalone (SA) network. The new development is a part of T-Mobile's ongoing commitment to elevate the 5G wireless experience for its customers across the United States.
Four-carrier aggregation allows T-Mobile to amalgamate multiple 5G channels to deliver improved speed and performance. The process involves merging four 5G channels of sub-6 GHz spectrum, including two channels of 2.5 GHz Ultra Capacity 5G, one channel of 1900 MHz, and one channel of 600 MHz spectrum. This technology essentially expands the data pathway, enabling faster network speeds. Early tests demonstrated peak speeds exceeding 3.3 Gbps. This advanced service is already active in some parts of T-Mobile's network and is expected to be available nationwide in the coming weeks. Customers with the Samsung Galaxy S23 will be among the first to experience this enhancement, with additional devices following suit.
"T-Mobile is blazing the trail for wireless customers around the globe, delivering new capabilities that unleash the true potential of 5G," stated Ulf Ewaldsson, President of Technology at T-Mobile. "With the only nationwide 5G standalone network in the country, T-Mobile is the ONLY provider bringing game-changing technologies like four-carrier aggregation to customers across the country."
