Yampa Valley Housing Authority Selects The Michaels Organization for Major Workforce Housing Initiative
CAMDEN, N.J., July 11, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Yampa Valley Housing Authority (YVHA) has enlisted the expertise of The Michaels Organization, a nationwide residential real estate leader, for the significant Brown Ranch workforce housing project in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The decision was officially confirmed during a YVHA Board meeting on July 6.
"We are incredibly enthusiastic about collaborating with the YVHA, a progressive Housing Authority, in bringing their vision for Brown Ranch to life," stated Bruce Morgan, Michaels' Senior Vice President of Development. "Our joint effort aims to create a vibrant, diverse community offering a range of high-quality housing options for the local workforce, thus promoting an inclusive environment for all members of the Steamboat Springs community."
The Brown Ranch project is the largest affordable housing initiative YVHA will undertake, spanning four neighborhoods and up to 2,264 homes to be constructed over 20 years. Recommendations from a panel of national experts in development, affordable housing, public policy, and finance will guide the implementation of the Brown Ranch Community Development Plan. YVHA Board President, Leah Wood, voiced her excitement about partnering with The Michaels Organization, citing the pressing need for affordable housing to support the thriving local economy. The project is currently dependent on an annexation agreement with the City of Steamboat Springs, which is still under negotiation.
