Elixia Health Opens Phase I Clinical Research Unit in Tampa

HOLLYWOOD, Fla., August 10, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Elixia Health has announced the commencement of its Phase I Clinical Research Unit in Tampa, Fla., operational since June 1. The 40-bed inpatient facility is strategically positioned near a Level 1 trauma center hospital in Tampa and offers 24-hour medical coverage. The unit is designed to accommodate study participants, including facilities for those requiring overnight stays.

Dr. Harry Alcorn, who holds the position of Chief Scientific Officer at Elixia Health, oversees the new Phase I Unit. With an extensive background in Phase I research, Dr. Alcorn has previously been associated with over 150 protocols as a principal investigator and has been a sub-investigator for more than 250 protocols. Dr. Alcorn stated, "The unit focuses on the underserved areas of renal and hepatic patient trials. Our venture into the Phase I market reflects Elixia's goal to potentially lead to new FDA-approved medications."

The Phase I Unit is equipped to handle diverse clinical trial processes including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, bioavailability/bioequivalence, and more. It aims to cater to a wide range of populations, from renal and hepatic to diabetic and cardiovascular patients, as well as healthy adult and elderly demographics.

The facility is furnished with up-to-date medical equipment and amenities.
