Ideal Systems Completes New Broadcast Facilities for CNBC in Singapore and London
SINGAPORE, June 20, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Ideal Systems, a leading broadcast solutions provider, has announced the successful completion of CNBC's Singapore broadcast operations relocation to a state-of-the-art facility in Mapletree Business City, Singapore.
This comprehensive project involved the seamless migration of the live broadcast facility from its previous location to the new site. Ideal Systems was responsible for the design and construction of the new facility, which includes a Master Control Room and Production Control Room for CNBC's Singapore Studios. Additionally, a new Computer Equipment Room (CER) was built to house integrated systems for various production functions, including editing, playout, content management, and distribution storage. The project also encompassed the development of new NDI-enabled Multi-Media Studios in Singapore and London, capable of producing content for social media platforms as well as serving as live broadcast and disaster recovery facilities.
The relocation process began with Ideal Systems conducting a thorough technology audit of CNBC's existing facility and systems. Based on the audit's findings, a detailed project plan was created, identifying the systems and equipment that could be transferred to the new facility. Outdated equipment was responsibly recycled through Ideal Systems' e-Waste recycling partner, Metalo International.
Peter Juno, Vice President and Director of Operations at CNBC International, expressed his enthusiasm for the new facilities, stating, "With the state-of-the-art facilities at our new Asia-Pacific headquarters built by Ideal Systems, CNBC International seeks to remain at the forefront of broadcast production in the region as a leader in business and financial news."
The collaboration between Ideal Systems and CNBC project leads, including Jimmy Ong, CNBC Asia Director of Broadcast Operations, and Gavon Wong, CNBC Asia Supervisor of Engineering, played a crucial role in coordinating the systems design across multiple broadcast equipment manufacturers. The migration and construction of the new facility were managed by Ideal Systems Project Director Han van 't Zand, ensuring a seamless transition and zero disruption to CNBC's round-the-clock operations.
Fintan Mc Kiernan, CEO of Ideal Systems in Singapore, expressed his satisfaction with the project's completion, stating, "We are honored and delighted to have completed another broadcast engineering project with CNBC, the success of which depended on great teamwork and coordination. This project further builds on a relationship that dates back 30 years since Ideal Systems first built facilities for CNBC in Hong Kong."
