Rev. Carrie K. Schofield-Broadbent to be Ordained as Bishop Coadjutor of Maryland Episcopal Diocese
BALTIMORE, September 14, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The Episcopal Diocese of Maryland announced today that the Rev. Carrie K. Schofield-Broadbent will be ordained and consecrated as Bishop Coadjutor. The ceremony is set to occur on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
The Diocese disclosed that the service will be open to all, with no ticket requirement, and will also be livestreamed. The conference aims to discuss the future direction of the Church.
The consecration of Rev. Schofield-Broadbent marks a significant advancement in the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland’s ongoing mission to foster an inclusive and diverse community. The service will include the participation of a wide array of clergy and lay leaders, as well as the Right Rev. Mary Gray-Reeves, who serves as the Vice President of the House of Bishops and the Managing Director of the College for Bishops, acting as the chief consecrator.
