DC Law Firm, Katten, Rehires Former FTC Attorney David Gonen as Partner in Commercial Litigation Practice
WASHINGTON, November 5, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) – Law firm Katten has announced that David Gonen, a former attorney at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), has rejoined the firm as a partner in its Washington, DC-based Commercial Litigation practice. According to the company, Gonen’s experience at the FTC, where he focused on antitrust matters, is expected to support Katten’s clients in navigating regulatory challenges.
"David brings valuable insight to our clients in helping them navigate the legal risks amid heightened scrutiny involving antitrust matters. His experience working for a government enforcer on the most cutting-edge recent antitrust issues enhances our capabilities in advising on practical strategies to help manage antitrust concerns arising from complex transactions," said Becky Lindahl, Chair of Katten’s Commercial Litigation practice.
Gonen served as a lead attorney in the FTC’s Mergers I Division for 12 years, investigating mergers in the pharmaceutical and other industries. His work included contributions to the FTC’s 2023 Merger Guidelines and the revised Premerger Notification Form, along with a role in the Illumina/Grail administrative trial, which led to a notable ruling by the Fifth Circuit in favor of the FTC’s vertical merger challenge.
