SYRACUSE, N.Y., August 10, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Destiny USA, one of New York State's prominent shopping hubs, has announced its collaboration with the Syracuse Police Department and Flock Safety, integrating license plate reading (LPR) cameras at all vehicle entry points.

Stephen J. Congel, CEO of Pyramid Management Group, highlighted the primary objective behind the integration: "We aim to provide real-time information to law enforcement to assist in crime prevention and timely resolution." The LPR cameras capture details like make, model, color, and license plate of vehicles and can immediately alert law enforcement when a vehicle fitting certain criteria, such as those reported stolen, enters the Destiny USA vicinity.

Syracuse's Chief of Police, Joseph L. Cecile, mentioned, "The utilization of Flock Safety cameras at Destiny USA will be instrumental in our efforts to promptly identify and respond to security matters, reinforcing our dedication to maintaining a secure environment for the community."

Destiny USA has previously introduced various safety measures:

  • A consistently enforced Parental Escort Policy (PEP).

  • Engagements with UnBEYlievable Enterprises to interact with at-risk youth visiting Destiny USA.

  • Collaborations with global security provider, AUS, for monitoring and security provision.

  • Regular patrolling by Syracuse Police Department officers within the premises of Destiny USA.

  • Active engagements with Onondaga County Probation officers at Destiny USA.

The adoption of the Flock Safety system isn't limited to Destiny USA; it's noted that over 40 shopping centers nationwide, including the Pyramid-owned Walden Galleria in Buffalo, NY, use the system.
