Mercedes-Benz Invests Over €2 Billion in Global AI and Data Training Initiative

STUTTGART, Germany, July 25, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Mercedes-Benz is set to retrain more than 600 of its employees worldwide as AI and data specialists, as part of its strategic investment in the global digital transformation. This comes under the German auto giant's Turn2Learn initiative, a training scheme that will see an investment of over €2 billion by 2030. The initiative's pilot programs, D.SHIFT and Data Worker, have led to the qualification of the first batch of employees, drawn from production, production-related areas, and administration.

"The huge interest in courses offered by our Turn2Learn qualification initiative proves that we’ve got exactly this kind of team at Mercedes-Benz," said Sabine Kohleisen, a board member responsible for Human Resources at Mercedes-Benz Group AG. In parallel, Jan Brecht, the CIO of Mercedes-Benz, highlighted the transformational role of data in the company's evolution, stating that "qualified specialists such as our Data Workers are the foundation for this."

In the coming years, Mercedes-Benz plans to further expand these training programs. This move forms part of the firm's ambitious goal of becoming an 'EV only' company by 2039. For further details on this story and more, visit media.mercedes-benz.com and group.mercedes-benz.com.
