HOUSTON, March 19, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods has announced a partnership with Bayou City Hemp Company and 8th Wonder Cannabis, introducing a range of hemp-derived THC beverages to its Texas stores. The collaboration will bring products such as HOWDY, Beach Break, and the entire 8th Wonder Cannabis product line to consumers at all 238 Spec’s locations across the state.

This initiative follows Bayou City Hemp's acquisition of 8th Wonder. According to a company press release, the partnership with Spec’s aims to further legitimize the hemp-derived THC beverage market, capitalizing on Spec’s reputation for innovation and consumer trust.

Ben Meggs, CEO of Bayou City Hemp and 8th Wonder, stated, “We have taken Texas by storm with our safe, high-quality hemp-derived THC products. No one is better suited to supply the state of Texas due to our capacity and existing distribution channels.” He expressed excitement about the potential for increased consumer reach through the partnership, adding, “We couldn’t be more excited to reach an even wider audience thanks to Spec’s trust in our products.”

Lisa Rydman-Lindsey, a third-generation member of the Spec’s Family, highlighted the growing consumer interest in alternative beverage options. “Spec’s has always been the industry leader in new products and this is no exception. The alternative beverage niche is only growing in both reputation and customer requests,” Rydman-Lindsey remarked. She emphasized the company's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, saying, “Our customers know that we will bring them the best in class products, and with this partnership, we are once again showing our commitment to great brands like 8th Wonder and our customers."

Meggs also commented on the shifting consumer trends towards cannabis products, stating, “Alcohol trends are down and alternatives are on the rise. We are leaning much heavier into cannabis due to consumer demand,” highlighting the companies' adaptation to market demands.

In addition to expanding within Texas, Bayou City Hemp and 8th Wonder are planning to enter new markets, with launches in 2-to-3 new states expected in the near future.
