Polo Club of Boca Raton Leads Food Packing Event to Combat Local Hunger
BOCA RATON, Fla., February 20, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The Polo Club of Boca Raton is spearheading its third annual 'Polo Feeds' initiative, a community-driven food packing event aimed at combating hunger in Palm Beach County. According to a press release from the organization, this philanthropic effort will bring together nearly 300 members and employees of the Polo Club to pack and distribute over 90,000 meals to local residents in need.
The initiative, supported by the Polo Club's Community Relations Committee, has successfully raised $30,000 for the purchase of approximately 14,000 lbs. of food and supplies. An 18-wheeler truck is scheduled to deliver these supplies to the Polo Club, facilitating a coordinated effort to prepare the meals for local food banks, including Boca Helping Hands, Jacobsen Food Pantry, and Feeding South Florida.
Lauren Spitz & Jill Plotnick, co-chairs of the Polo Feeds project, expressed their enthusiasm for the event, stating, "It's truly inspiring to see our members come together, having a great time while giving back to the community. This event isn't just about packing meals; it's a celebration of our collective spirit and the joy that comes from making a difference together."
The Polo Feeds initiative underscores the Polo Club of Boca Raton's ongoing commitment to philanthropy and community service, demonstrating the significant impact of collective action in addressing local hunger challenges.
