DALLAS, Ore., December 18, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - In celebration of their 25th anniversary in the Willamette Valley, the Carl and Marilynn Thoma Foundation together with Van Duzer Vineyards have announced a $25,000 donation to the ¡Salud! Foundation. According to a recent press release, this donation is aimed at providing no-cost, full-spectrum preventative healthcare services to 100 vineyard stewards in the Willamette Valley, a gesture of gratitude for the support they have received from their customers, team, and the Oregon wine industry over the past 25 years.

Carl Thoma, owner of Van Duzer Vineyards, expressed his commitment to the community, stating, “Van Duzer Vineyards and the Thoma family are proud to support local organizations, like ¡Salud!, that support the people that make our community so special. Our donation to ¡Salud!, in honor of our 25th anniversary, reflects our commitment to the health and well-being of the people who make the Willamette Valley the extraordinary place that it is."

The ¡Salud! Foundation, unique in its reach and effectiveness, provides vital healthcare services directly to vineyard stewards at their workplaces. This approach, pioneered by the Oregon wine industry, ensures that these essential workers receive healthcare services they might not otherwise access. ¡Salud! Services operates as a clinical department of Hillsboro Medical Center, an OHSU Health partner, and is a project of the Hillsboro Medical Center Foundation. It has been sustained since 1992 through proceeds from the annual Oregon Pinot Noir Auction and private donations.

Maria McCandless, Foundation Director at the Hillsboro Medical Center Foundation, expressed gratitude for the donation, saying, “We are so grateful to the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation for this impactful gift. Thanks to this collaboration, ¡Salud! will be able to deliver one year of no-cost, full-spectrum preventative healthcare services to 100 people. Beyond no-cost care delivered through ¡Salud! mobile clinics, each client receives personalized support to overcome any barriers to accessing care and empower them to live a healthy life.”
