SEATTLE, February 15, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Elevate Outdoor Collective (EOC), a Seattle-based conglomerate of outdoor brands, has officially launched the Collective Progress™ initiative, a comprehensive sustainability strategy aimed at achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. According to a press release from the company, the initiative outlines a phased approach to carbon reduction, targeting a 50% decrease by 2030, 80% by 2040, and complete net-zero emissions by 2050, across EOC's global brand portfolio.

The Collective Progress™ initiative is structured around three main pillars: Collective Innovation, Collective Access, and Collective Well-being. These pillars focus on enhancing product performance while minimizing environmental impact, promoting diversity and inclusivity in outdoor experiences, and emphasizing the importance of outdoor activities for health and wellness.

John Colonna, CEO of Elevate Outdoor Collective, emphasized the centrality of sustainability to the company's mission, stating, “Sustainability must be at the core of everything we do. Through Collective Progress, we aim to preserve and improve the experience for generations to come and with it can unlock greater innovation across our brands, drive access to these sports, and foster well-being through our customers and employees.”

According to the company, EOC's sustainability efforts encompass several key areas, including product innovation with eco-friendly materials, production processes powered by renewable energy, packaging elimination of single-use plastics in favor of recyclable or bio-based materials, and process improvements for efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

The initiative also involves collaboration with third-party organizations such as the Higg Index, The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), and Climate United to ensure best practices in sustainability are met and progress is accurately measured.

Colonna further expressed the collective enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting the team's dedication to environmental stewardship: "The passion and love that our teams have for the places we play is undeniable and we’ll be bringing that energy to our collective mission. It is empowering to feel the excitement from our team as this platform brings together the things that we care about most.”
