FOREST GROVE, Ore., February 9, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Pacific University has introduced an innovative approach to higher education and career planning with its new Pacific Priority program, which offers guaranteed admission to select graduate programs alongside undergraduate admission. This initiative is designed to streamline the educational journey for students, providing a seamless transition from undergraduate to graduate studies.

According to a press release from the university, under the Pacific Priority program, incoming students have the opportunity to secure a place in a Pacific University graduate program before starting their college education. This option is also available to current undergraduates and transfer students beginning their junior year, contingent upon meeting certain academic and admission criteria throughout their undergraduate tenure.

The program, set to benefit students enrolling in the 2024-2025 academic year and current Pacific undergraduates, covers a wide range of graduate disciplines. Eligible programs include three doctoral degrees—Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Doctor of Optometry, and Doctor of Physical Therapy—as well as four health profession disciplines and three master’s programs in education, among others.

Pacific University President Jenny Coyle emphasized the program's alignment with the university's mission to support students with a clear career focus, particularly in healthcare and education. "Students often choose Pacific with a clear sense of purpose. Many are planning on careers in healthcare or education, and the Pacific Priority program gives them a clear path to achieving those goals," Coyle stated. "Our students are passionate about serving their communities and uplifting others through their careers, and we are here to empower them in that vision."

In addition to the guaranteed graduate admission, Pacific University continues to offer a four-year graduation guarantee for its undergraduate students and has introduced a two-year graduation guarantee for transfer students. Sarah Phillips, interim vice president of enrollment management and student affairs, highlighted the value of these guarantees, noting, "College is an investment for our students and their families, and they want to know that it is one that will pay off. These programs assure students that they can graduate on time and have a direct pathway to the next step in their lives."

Pacific University, located in Washington County, Oregon, serves a diverse student body of over 3,600 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students across various fields of study, including the arts and sciences, business, education, health professions, and optometry.
