MADISON, Wis., March 28, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Sprocket Security, a cyber security company recognized for its continuous penetration testing solutions, announced an $8 million Series A financing round led by Blueprint Equity, with participation from Capital Midwest Fund. The funding aims to accelerate the development of Sprocket’s platform, enhance customer success initiatives, and expand its sales and marketing efforts.

Sprocket Security's service allows security teams to continuously assess their security posture, identify and mitigate complex risks, and reduce threat exposure, supported by a team of experts.

Casey Cammilleri, Founder and CEO of Sprocket, emphasized the limitations of traditional penetration testing methods and the importance of evolving security practices. “Companies that have experience with a point in time pentest understand the limitations of the legacy model,” said Cammilleri. “Technology is constantly evolving and so must security measures. That's why we believe in the hybrid approach of human-driven testing supported by automation. It’s the only way to ensure comprehensive and up-to-date testing.”

Cammilleri, who has dedicated his career to the offensive side of cybersecurity, founded Sprocket to scale his expertise. He expressed his confidence in Blueprint Equity, highlighting their operational focus and experience in cybersecurity investments. “I was initially drawn to Blueprint’s experience investing in cybersecurity and their operationally focused approach. As we got to know the team at Blueprint, we realized what ‘operationally focused’ really means and are excited to have a collaborative partner as we rapidly scale to meet growing demand,” Cammilleri stated.

John Bonhard, Vice President of Blueprint Equity, who will join Sprocket’s Board of Directors, spoke on the necessity of continuous penetration testing in the current cybersecurity landscape. “Within an ever-changing cybersecurity landscape, the only constant is the presence of threat actors,” Bonhard commented.
