Advanced Auto Theft Training Program Launched by NYACT and NICB in Collaboration with NYS DMV DFI

NEW YORK, December 7, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The New York Anti Car Theft and Fraud Association (NYACT) and the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), in partnership with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Division of Field Investigation (NYS DMV DFI), recently conducted an Advanced Auto Theft Training program. This initiative, held at the NYS DMV DFI facility in Queens Village, NY, was specifically designed for law enforcement personnel.

The training program focused on equipping law enforcement officers with the skills and knowledge to effectively identify stolen motor vehicles. It included practical, hands-on sessions where participants examined several stolen retagged vehicles, learning to spot counterfeit or reaffixed public Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs), Federal Warranty Labels, and Anti-theft stickers. These sessions aimed to provide law enforcement with immediate, applicable skills for their field investigations and patrols.

Expert speakers from the industry shared insights on key indicators of auto theft, enhancing the officers' ability to detect and investigate vehicle crimes. The NYS DMV DFI provided the venue, underlining the collaborative effort of various agencies in tackling the increasing challenge of motor vehicle thefts.
