NEW YORK, June 6, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Alinia AI has announced it has raised $2.4 million in pre-seed funding to support the development of its platform focused on the safe and controlled deployment of generative artificial intelligence (AI). The funding round was led by Speedinvest and Precursor, with contributions from KFund, Tom Preston-Werner Ventures, and notable angel investors including Clem Delangue and Thom Wolf, co-founders of Hugging Face, and Xavier Amatriain, VP of Google Core AI.

According to a recent press release, the company AI aims to provide solutions for enterprises to manage and monitor AI systems, ensuring they adhere to regulatory requirements and expected behaviors. The platform is designed to help companies mitigate the risks associated with generative AI technology, which is becoming increasingly integral in various business sectors.

“The technology is not production-ready for business scenarios. Enterprise leaders are rightfully afraid of making headlines because their generative AI applications go rogue. Reputational harm keeps them up at night,” said Ariadna Font Llitjós, co-founder and CEO of Alinia. “Using a process known as alignment, we ensure AI systems adhere to expected behaviors, policies, and regulatory requirements – helping enterprises seize the promise of this new technology while minimizing the risks and potential harm.”

Generative AI technology is rapidly growing, with projected spending expected to reach $143 billion by 2027. However, this growth brings challenges such as the need to manage and control the technology to avoid inappropriate or brand-damaging content. Additionally, companies must navigate upcoming regulatory requirements like the EU AI Act and executive orders on AI governance in the United States.

“At Twitter, I saw firsthand the impact unintended bias of training data and ML algorithms can have on vulnerable populations, and I apply those learnings and experiences to Alinia so that other companies can increase their chances of getting generative AI right for their employees and their customers,” added Font Llitjós.

Alinia’s platform will provide a comprehensive AI governance framework, including evaluation, real-time monitoring, and optimization techniques to ensure compliance and safety in AI applications. This approach is intended to help enterprises manage their AI technologies effectively and safely, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and performance expectations.

“In my experience at Hugging Face, governance and safety aspects of LLM development require an incredible amount of time and effort. But when you are about to release a foundation model that will be used millions of times, governance and safety are non-negotiables,” said Carlos Muñoz Ferrandis, co-founder and COO of Alinia.

The company plans to use the funds to expand its team and further develop its AI governance platform to support the safe and inclusive use of generative AI across different applications and industries.
