Kassidy Allen Awarded Future Texas Business Legend Scholar Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership
DALLAS, September 5, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) – The Texas Business Hall of Fame has named Kassidy Allen, a senior at Texas Christian University (TCU), as the recipient of the 2024 Future Texas Business Legend Scholar Award. Allen has been recognized for her leadership and dedication to advancing entrepreneurship, particularly through her efforts in addressing food safety challenges for college students with dietary restrictions.
Allen is the co-founder of Krescent Foods, a company that focuses on providing allergen-friendly, ready-to-eat meals for college students. Through her work, Krescent Foods aims to offer safe and accessible dining options for students with food allergies, allowing them to “eat safely” and “live freely.”
Reflecting on the award, Allen said, “I am incredibly humbled and honored to receive the Future Texas Business Legend Scholar Award. This recognition motivates me to continue pushing the boundaries of my own business, to strive for excellence in everything I do, and to make a meaningful difference for others who share life-threatening food allergies as I do.”
Kassidy’s leadership and vision have been noted as key factors in her selection for the award. Annie Cowden, director of the BNSF Neeley Leadership Program at TCU, said, "Through Krescent, Kassidy has grown from a college kid facing issues finding safe food to a collaborative, confident, and innovative CEO."
As part of the Scholar Award, Allen will receive a $10,000 prize at the Future Texas Business Legend Awards dinner on November 13, 2024, at the Omni Dallas Hotel. This award is part of the Texas Business Hall of Fame’s efforts to support promising business leaders and entrepreneurs in the state.
