CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., August 9, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - PlayCore has been announced as one of 11 finalists for the 2024 International Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Award for Ethics. The award, established in 1996, recognizes businesses across North America that demonstrate exceptional commitment to ethical business practices and fostering trust within the marketplace.

To qualify for this prestigious international recognition, PlayCore won a local BBB Torch Award, a prerequisite for consideration at the international level. The International Torch Awards for Ethics evaluates companies based on four key criteria: the character of the organization’s leadership, the authenticity of its culture, transparency in customer relationships, and its impact on the local community.

The winners of the 2024 International Torch Awards for Ethics will be announced at a ceremony scheduled for September in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The awards are organized by the BBB Institute for Marketplace Trust, an arm of the Better Business Bureau dedicated to advancing ethical business practices.

Kip Morse, President and CEO of the International Association of Better Business Bureaus, emphasized the significance of the award, stating, “The International Torch Awards for Ethics is one of the most important programs we do each year. BBB sets standards to make trust a fundamental component of the American marketplace, but these businesses are out there every day making it happen."

PlayCore’s leadership expressed their commitment to maintaining high ethical standards within the organization. "PlayCore is dedicated to providing employees with an ethical, respectful work environment," said Roger Posacki, CEO of PlayCore. He further emphasized the company's mission, stating, "We believe in building healthy communities through play, recreation, and outdoor spaces. While we design, market, and manufacture play and recreation products, we also allocate significant resources into research, education, programs, and partnerships that benefit the industry and the communities we serve."

AnneMarie Spencer, PlayCore's Vice President of Marketing, who accepted the local award on behalf of the company, discussed the company’s focus on ethical practices. “We work hard to build a culture of respect and trust, so our team instinctively knows the right thing to do and is empowered to do it. High ethical standards help stakeholders and customers know we are safeguarding their interests,” she stated.
