SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla., August 27, 2024, (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The American Distilling Institute (ADI) has awarded St. Augustine Distillery its prestigious Bubble Cap Award for Distillery of the Year. The award, presented on August 27, 2024, during ADI’s annual conference in Baltimore, MD, recognizes the Florida-based distillery for its excellence in spirits quality, innovation, transparency, and community involvement.

The Bubble Cap Award, introduced in 2010, honors the top distillery globally, with criteria including production of fewer than 100,000 proof gallons annually, independent ownership, and in-house distillation of products. ADI President Erik Owens highlighted the distillery's achievements, noting, “In 2014, Phil McDaniel had a dream to make whiskey and share it with the world. That passion drove him to make connections in his community and overcome every obstacle.”

St. Augustine Distillery, located in the nation’s oldest city, is known for its artisanal spirits, including bourbon, rum, gin, and vodka. The distillery draws 175,000 visitors annually and has been recognized for its visitor experience, named the “#1 Whiskey Tour in North America” by the Drammie Awards. The distillery operates out of the Historic FP&L Ice Plant, a building restored by the founders, which earned the 2014 Award for Excellence for Reuse and Repurpose from the Urban Land Institute of North Florida.

Philip McDaniel, co-founder and CEO, expressed his gratitude for the recognition: “We are deeply honored to receive The Bubble Cap award from the American Distilling Institute. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team and the invaluable guidance from industry experts.”
