Young Piano Prodigy Zeke Walters Performs for Alzheimer's Awareness at Senior Living Community
VANCOUVER, Wash., March 25, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Zeke Walters, an eight-year-old piano prodigy, is leveraging his musical skills to bring joy to residents of the Walnut Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center and raise funds for Alzheimer's research. The young musician, whose mother is the administrator of the care center, has witnessed the powerful impact music can have on individuals with memory loss.
"Miraculously, even though there is disease, it kind of wipes out their memory, there's still one thing they can still remember: music," said Walters. Motivated by this realization, Walters has committed to using his performances to enhance the lives of those living with Alzheimer's.
In addition to his regular performances at the care center, Walters is actively participating in fundraising efforts for the Alzheimer's Association. He is set to play the piano at a fundraising event at the Pie Pan Restaurant on March 23rd from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Walters encourages community members to support the cause, stating, "So, if you wanna come, you can just reserve a reservation."
Kelli Walters, Zeke's mother, expressed pride in her son's initiative: "It has been humbling to see Zeke choose to utilize a gift he’s been given to benefit a population that has grown close to his heart. Not only have his efforts led to an increase in Alzheimer’s awareness and monetary donations here in our community, but they also put a smile on the faces of our residents each time he comes to entertain!”
The community is invited to support Walters in his mission to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's disease.
