CRANBURY, N.J., July 11, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - AcceleDev Chemical LLC has announced the opening of a new 5,000-square-foot research and development (R&D) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) production facility at 1 Duncan Drive, Cranbury, New Jersey. The facility aims to enhance the company's capabilities in supporting the development of new pharmaceutical products.

AcceleDev Chemical LLC, founded in 2003 by Charlie Lewis, provides custom synthesis solutions to pharmaceutical companies. The new facility is intended to improve the R&D and production of early development active ingredients and intermediates, primarily serving the U.S. pharmaceutical market.

The new laboratory includes three process development rooms with 8-ft. hoods, an analytical lab, and two isolated GMP suites. This setup will enable AcceleDev to conduct high-quality research and production while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

The expansion to a larger laboratory space was driven by the need to bolster AcceleDev’s U.S. chemistry R&D and GMP small-scale production capabilities. The new facility is expected to enhance AcceleDev’s role as a producer of high-level active ingredients, supporting the introduction of new medicines to the market. The GMP suites are intended to attract customers to visit, inspect, and approve the site, reinforcing confidence in AcceleDev’s commitment to quality and compliance.

AcceleDev Chemical LLC provides a range of services, including full API process route design, development, and scale-up. The company has expertise in producing complex pharmaceutical targets, performing synthetic routes of any length and scale. The organization includes 70 chemists, with 12 PhDs. Work is conducted at AcceleDev’s R&D sites in Shanghai and New Jersey, with scale-up and commercial projects executed at production sites in Jiangyin and Dalian, China.
