Claudia DeLeon Appointed Head of Spanish Broadcast Operations at Urban One

(NASDAQ: UONEK, UONE) has announced Claudia DeLeon as Vice President, General Manager of its Cleveland market and Head of Spanish Broadcast Operations, following the company’s Local Management Agreement (LMA) with La Mega Media, Inc., and Lazo Media LLC. DeLeon, formerly Chief Operating Officer at La Mega Media, will oversee Urban One's growing Spanish-language programming across Ohio and Indianapolis, effective November 1, 2024.
According to the company, under the new arrangement, Urban One will operate stations under the La Mega brand across multiple markets, including Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. Eddie Harrell, Jr., Co-President of Urban One's Audio Division, described the collaboration with La Mega Media as a means of strengthening Urban One's reach in Hispanic communities across key locations: "We are thrilled to align with such a well-established brand in Ohio, one with a legacy of dedicated service to Hispanic communities in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati. In a statement, David Kantor, CEO of Urban One's Radio Division, highlighted the rebranding as a step toward strengthening Spanish-language media in Ohio and Indiana. Urban One’s new Spanish-language stations will feature a variety of content, including music and news. The company also owns and operates Telemundo television affiliates in Columbus and Indianapolis, further expanding its reach in Hispanic media markets.
