GRASS VALLEY, Calif., July 10, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) has acquired Applied Science’s HemoFlow 500 devices and HemoVue cloud-based service. Applied Science (ASI) is known for its products and services in whole blood collection. The new technology provides real-time operational data and analytics to improve blood collection processes.

CBCO, established in 1995, supplies blood and blood products to over 40 hospitals in a 41-county region covering Southwest Missouri, Northwest Arkansas, Southeast Kansas, and the United States military. The organization is upgrading its equipment with 100 HemoFlow 500xs devices to take advantage of features such as remote configuration and real-time monitoring.

“Applied Science is a long-time trusted partner, and the next-generation HemoFlow 500 is the obvious choice for CBCO,” said Anthony Roberts, Executive Director of the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. “Applied Science has always provided CBCO with superb service and support, so extending our relationship is the natural next step. Additionally, the organization sees high value in the new software platform HemoVue and its ability to perform remote configurations and real-time staff/site monitoring.”

The HemoFlow 500 series devices, which weigh 3.5 lbs., support up to 230 draws per charge and include a touch-screen display, integrated barcode scanner, onboard collection record storage, and wireless connectivity.
