MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla., September 2, 2024, (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF) has announced the donation of more than $3 million to 17 children’s charities in Northwest Florida. This contribution is part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to support local organizations focused on improving the lives of children in the region. Since its establishment in 2005, DCWAF has donated over $35 million to these causes.

The funds were distributed during a private check presentation ceremony at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa on August 29. The foundation’s donations have been instrumental in funding various initiatives, including the construction of over 60 Habitat for Humanity houses, the establishment of a Level II NICU unit, and the provision of two dental buses, among other vital services.

“As we move into our 20th year of operation, I can’t help but reflect upon the true impact of $35 million on the children of our community,” said DCWAF President Karah Fridley-Young. She emphasized the importance of the foundation’s work, stating, “I am eternally grateful for the support of our donors and look forward to continuing our work to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive.”

The 2024 recipients of DCWAF funding include organizations such as Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, Children in Crisis, and Habitat for Humanity of Walton County, among others. These organizations provide a wide range of services, from healthcare and housing to educational support and advocacy.

The foundation has also announced that the 2025 Destin Charity Wine Auction Weekend, its primary fundraising event, will take place on April 25-26, 2025. The event will mark the foundation’s 20th anniversary, with tickets and additional details to be made available in January.
