SEATTLE, July 10, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - MedBridge has introduced a new hybrid musculoskeletal (MSK) care solution designed to increase access to quality care and enable patients to remain in-network. The solution addresses the challenges in the MSK patient journey, such as difficulty in accessing care, high costs, and limited capacity.

According to MedBridge, more than 100 million Americans experience MSK pain each year. Studies indicate that incorporating physical therapy early in the patient journey can lead to better outcomes, fewer interventions, and reduced overall costs. However, less than 15 percent of MSK patients currently receive physical therapy.

MedBridge's new platform, Pathways, aims to offer MSK care providers an easier way to deliver therapy-based conservative care. The platform helps healthcare organizations increase access to MSK care through digital programs that complement in-person services and enhance clinical outcomes monitoring. It also provides a consumer-friendly experience designed to drive high engagement with clinical assessments, expert-backed content, and quality exercises.

“Physical therapy is immensely effective, yet getting patients from primary care offices to quality conservative MSK care has been way harder than it needs to be,” said Donovan Campbell, Chief Executive Officer at MedBridge. “That ends now. We’ve listened to our many hospital system customers who’ve been eager for a hybrid MSK platform that’s easy for their providers to prescribe, that’s exciting for their patients to use, and that works with their existing EHRs to keep their data and their patients in-system. I’m pleased to announce today that Pathways is that platform.”

Don Packard, Rehabilitation Director at Corewell Health, stated, “Pathways is helping us provide patients with every option for their care, in ways we couldn’t do before. This not only empowers patients but keeps us ahead of the competition and keeps patients in the Corewell Health System.”

The benefits of the Pathways platform for hospital systems include increased access to MSK care, improved patient engagement and adherence, enhanced ability to report clinical outcomes, and reduced overall MSK care costs. The platform also includes holistic, evidence-based programs, ongoing reminders for patients, progress tracking, and AI-supported motion capture assessments.
