Sharon Har Appointed as Vice President of Development at The Michaels Organization's Hawai'i Office
CAMDEN, N.J., October 30, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The Michaels Organization, a national leader in residential real estate, has announced the promotion of Sharon Har to Vice President of Development for its Hawai‘i office. Ms. Har, who joined the company in 2019 as a Development Officer, will now manage a wide range of development aspects, including financing, design, and entitlements, on the island.
In her prior role, Har led the development of Halewai‘olu Senior Residences in downtown Honolulu. Her expanded responsibilities will involve direct liaison with various financial institutions, investors, community partners, and government entities to facilitate affordable housing projects. “We are delighted that Sharon has accepted this leadership position within our organization,” said Michael (Mick) Flanagan, President of Development at Michaels. “Her commitment to community and expertise in all facets of development are aligned with our organization’s core values.”
Before her tenure at Michaels, Har specialized in real estate and land use as an attorney at the law firm of Bays Lung Rose & Holma in Honolulu. She also represented the state in the Hawai‘i House of Representatives from 2006 to 2022, focusing on issues such as affordable housing, critical infrastructure, and education. Har holds a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and a J.D. from the John Marshall Law School. She has also been active in community organizations, including serving on the Board of Better Tomorrows, a non-profit dedicated to serving families and seniors in affordable housing communities.
The Michaels Organization has been operational in Hawai‘i since 2019, when selected by the Hawai‘i Public Housing Authority to develop Kuhio Park Terrace. Since then, the company has built over 1,000 affordable housing units on the island and currently manages more than 1,800 units.
