BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., October 2, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Amidst a backdrop of global tensions, Movicorp, a Los Angeles-based film production company, has announced the theatrical release of "Rebel: Director's Cut," a remastered film starring Sylvester Stallone. The film aims to resonate with a new generation by promoting a message of world peace. Robert Schnitzer, the original director of the film and current CEO of Movicorp, took the initiative to recut, restore, and remaster the film in 4K resolution.

Sylvester Stallone, renowned for his acting career, made his first-ever speaking and starring role in this film. The screenplay was co-written by Schnitzer and Larry Beinhart, the author behind the novel "Wag the Dog," which later inspired a hit film featuring Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman.

Originally launched in 1973 under the title "No Place to Hide," the film was renamed "Rebel" in 1978. Until now, it had only been available through home video and local TV markets, both in the U.S. and internationally.

The film will make its theatrical debut on Saturday, October 7th, at the Lumiere Cinema in Beverly Hills at 9 p.m. This premiere serves as a benefit for the national world peace non-profit organization, WorldBeyondWar.org. "The film reveals a timeless message, as relevant today as the year it was produced," said Schnitzer.

Movicorp is in talks with several national theater chains for a wider release. The first screening in each participating theater will also act as a benefit for WorldBeyondWar.org.

"Rebel: Director's Cut" delves into the life of Jerry Savage, portrayed by Stallone, a young anti-war activist during the Vietnam War era. The film explores his involvement with a terrorist cell in New York City, their plot to bomb a Manhattan skyscraper, and his unexpected romantic relationship with a metaphysical flower child.
