MCLEAN, Va., June 17, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - Smoothstack, an IT Hire-Train-Deploy (HTD) provider, has announced the appointment of Chris Coligado as the Executive Vice President and Federal Market Lead. Coligado will oversee the strategic direction and execution of Smoothstack's federal practice, aiming to enhance the adoption of the HTD model within the public sector and address the technology skills gap affecting critical digital initiatives.

"Chris has exactly the industry and leadership experience needed to reach our aggressive growth goals for this area of our business," said John Akkara, CEO of Smoothstack. "The public sector has been slower to adopt the HTD model than commercial businesses. With Chris’ leadership, we’re looking forward to capitalizing on this huge opportunity to help government agencies execute on their digital missions."

Coligado brings over two decades of experience in technology consulting, including significant roles at Booz Allen Hamilton. During his tenure at Booz Allen, he led various digital service growth initiatives across Civil Finance Regulatory Agencies, managing technology modernization efforts for entities such as the Treasury, IRS, FDIC, and SEC, as well as the Department of Transportation, Homeland Security, and Law Enforcement Markets. Most recently, Coligado managed the federal government consulting market for both civilian and defense sectors at 22nd Century Technologies, expanding capabilities in Managed Services, Enterprise Architecture, and Cloud-based AI/ML product solutions.

Smoothstack’s HTD model provides an alternative channel for government clients to access cleared technology talent. Using its proprietary Six-Stack™ algorithmic approach, Smoothstack identifies high-potential software developers, trains them through a Mirrored Environment Immersion (MEI)™ framework, and deploys them as work-ready talent in approximately 10-12 weeks.

“I’m excited for the newest chapter of my career at Smoothstack,” said Coligado. “With the acceleration of AI innovation, we’ve reached an inflection point where we must find a way around the tech talent shortages holding us back. Smoothstack’s HTD approach has the potential to make a massive impact on the federal sector’s ability to scale their digital efforts with cleared, net-new technology resources.”
