Southern Company Gas Names Myra Bierria Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
ATLANTA, October 28, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) – Southern Company Gas, a company specializing in natural gas services, has appointed Myra Bierria as senior vice president and chief administrative officer, effective October 26, 2024. According to the company, in her new role, Bierria will oversee Corporate Communications, Corporate Impact, and Facilities. She will report directly to Chairman, President, and CEO James Y. Kerr II, and will also serve as Kerr's chief of staff.
Bierria currently serves as vice president and corporate secretary for Southern Company and has been with the company since 2002, previously holding roles with Southern Company Gas (formerly AGL Resources). She has advised senior management and the board of directors on corporate governance and securities law compliance. Her previous experience includes positions as associate attorney at a New York law firm specializing in securities offerings, venture capital transactions, and mergers and acquisitions, as well as a staff attorney role at FedEx Corporation.

Bierria is a fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel, a 2023-2024 fellow of the International Women's Forum, and a member of Leadership Atlanta's Class of 2012. She holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
