MIAMI, October 3, 2023 (VSNewsNetwork.com) - The National Cycling League (NCL) has officially announced the enlistment of new athletes to its franchise teams, Denver Disruptors and Miami Nights, for the upcoming 2024 season.
Among the prominent names joining is Tyler Williams from the renowned UCI Continental team, L39ION of Los Angeles. Having an extensive professional racing career spanning a decade, including stints in Europe and Asia, Williams has expressed enthusiasm for his new journey with Miami Nights. Commenting on the transition, Williams said, "My goal is to leave a legacy. This will provide me with a new challenge and an opportunity to see what else I can accomplish as an athlete."
After returning stateside in 2019, Williams has clinched multiple titles, most notably the Athens Twilight, Tulsa Tough's Cry Baby Hill, and a stage in the Walmart Joe Martin Stage Race (JMSR). His recent achievements include securing third place in the criterium and second place in the road race at the 2023 USA Pro National Championships.
Reed McCalvin, NCL's Vice President for Teams & Athletes, shared his anticipation, “Over the last five years, Williams has been one of the best cyclists in the country... he will make a great addition to the Miami Nights in 2024.”
Joining Williams in Miami Nights are Melsey Perez, recognized for her dominance in the Florida racing circuit, and William Hardin, who marked notable finishes at JMSR and the U.S. Nationals in 2023. Meanwhile, the Denver Disruptors have enlisted Anna Hicks and Grace Arlandson, both celebrated for their individual prowess on the cycling track.
As the NCL gears up for the 2024 season, further announcements regarding athlete allocations, participating teams for the 2024 NCL Cup, and race schedules are expected in the coming weeks.
