Junior League of Miami Awards $40,000 in Community Grants for Local Nonprofits
MIAMI, September 17, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) – The Junior League of Miami (JLM) has awarded $40,000 in grants to several local nonprofit organizations as part of its ongoing efforts to support education, health, and social services in the Miami community. The grants were distributed in recognition of Find The Good Day, an initiative created by The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) to encourage kindness and community involvement.
The funds will provide essential resources for nonprofits focused on improving the lives of children and families in Miami. The grant program is part of JLM’s larger mission to drive community impact through volunteerism and financial support.
Founded in 1925, the Junior League of Miami is a volunteer-led organization with over 600 members. The organization has played a significant role in the creation of several key nonprofit programs in Miami, including the Children’s Home Society, CHARLEE House, the Guardian Ad Litem program, and the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science.
In 2023, the Junior League of Miami revived its grantmaking initiative, committing to distribute $216,000 in community grants for the 2023-2024 period. By 2025, JLM plans to invest $500,000 into the Miami community, as it celebrates its centennial year.
