This collaboration is aimed at equipping Central Florida residents with essential financial knowledge, according to the company.
The Habitat Financial Academy is a six-week program designed to teach participants key aspects of financial management. Penny Seater, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka, emphasized the importance of financial literacy in helping families achieve stability and homeownership. “We know from experience that when families are equipped with essential financial literacy skills, their entire lives are transformed and the American Dream of homeownership becomes more attainable. We deeply appreciate our partnership with Orlando Credit Union, recognizing their expertise and community leadership as a presenter of this program”, Seater said.
Joe Torres, who is leading Orlando Credit Union’s involvement in the initiative, highlighted the value of preparing future homebuyers through education. “It really is a great channel by which to extend knowledge of the requirements and considerations of owning a home.
