GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., November 4, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) – Food solutions company SpartanNash (Nasdaq: SPTN) has named Djouma Barry as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Retail Officer. Barry joins the company following the planned departure of Thomas Swanson, Executive Vice President of Corporate Retail, who will transition to a consulting role at the end of the year. Barry will be responsible for overseeing SpartanNash’s retail strategy and operations across its expanding footprint.

Barry previously served as Vice President of Retail Operations at Kroger. His experience spans leadership roles at Target, Old Navy, and Lululemon, where he handled various aspects of retail strategy and operations. At Target, he advanced from a sales floor leader to Vice President of Process Operations, overseeing 1,900 stores and managing $93 billion in annual sales across the United States.

“The way Djouma has advanced from the store floor to the executive table makes him a highly inspirational leader for our 12,000+ retail Associates. Djouma will play a critical role in advancing our People First culture and enhancing the store guest experience across our growing retail footprint,” said Tony Sarsam, CEO of SpartanNash.
