Lumenco Forms New Company to Commercialize Solar Chill Technology

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., July 11, 2024 (VSNewsNetwork.com) – Lumenco, LLC, a company specializing in light science technologies, has announced the formation of Lumenco Scientific. This new entity will independently manage the commercialization of Lumenco’s patented Solar Chill™ energy-optimizing coating transfer technology.
The Solar Chill technology, protected under U.S. patent #11,908,965B1, is designed to reflect heat-producing infrared wavelengths while allowing energy-generating visible light to penetrate solar panels. This is achieved through the use of nanostructures and metamaterials that enable tailored filtering.
According to the company, panel manufacturers seeking to integrate Solar Chill will receive a modified EVA film with the embedded nanostructure-metamaterial mask, which can be substituted into their manufacturing process without any modifications. Internal lab results indicate that Solar Chill could potentially increase energy capture by up to 20% and extend the life of solar panels by keeping them cooler through infrared reflection.
